This 16,220-square-foot historic renovation of the Florentine Building in Birmingham, Alabama includes 1,920 square feet of commercial and catering kitchens, preparation, and serving areas. Detailed finishes replicating the historical records and reuse of many aspects of the existing building. The original Art Deco design is completely replicated on plaster walls and mouldings. New installation of fire protection throughout and complete upgrade of electrical, HVAC and plumbing to house state-of-the-art kitchen components as well as exquisite finishes in the ballroom for elaborate events. Upon completion, this facility will seat 300 in the upstairs ballroom area. The downstairs restaurant will seat 139 in the main dining room and balcony. The $420,000 exterior hardscape renovation will host an additional 20 al fresco dining seats.
